Lars Harrie

Lars is a senior lecturer at the GIS Centre, Lund University. He has a M.Sc. in Geodesy from KTH, Stockholm in 1993. From 1996 to 2001 he was a doctoral student at Lund University. His thesis dealt with automatic methods for cartographic generalisation. In 2007 he obtained the docent degree. Currently Lars is responsible for courses in web-GIS and algorithms in GIS, and supervises M.Sc.- and PhD-students. During 2007 he was editor of the “Swedish GIS-book”. Between 2004 and 2008 Lars is co-chair of the ISPRS working group II/3 Multiple Representations of Image and Vector Data.

His research interest include: proximity analysis, cartographic generalisation, web-GIS, 3D-GIS and usability testing.
